Waterproofing

Hi everyone!  I promise I will be posting pictures soon, I've just been so busy between work & wedding stuff it's a little crazy over here right now!!!  Anyway - our PM called John last  Friday and told him that they would be waterproofing the basement and backfilling this week, then hopefully framing next week!  From experience, how long does waterproofing take?  And backfilling?  I'm assuming that backfilling is just putting dirt around the foundation of the house?  I'm kind of lost! hahaha - I just want to know how long we should expect before they start framing!

Thank you!!!

  1. It took about a week for the waterproofing part the framing only took like 2 to 3 days. The framing part goes up really fast! Looking forward for pics. :)

  2. Backfilling only takes a couple hours...basically just pushing the dirt into the hole around the foundation. Not sure anyone has ever said how long the waterproofing takes, but it looks like it is a multi-step process and the sealant on the outside needs to cure before they push the dirt up against it. Not sure if there is an inspection needed too...that would probably add a day...but your PM can definitely give you a day-by-day or task duration schedule. They have this stuff down to a science and usually the only delays are with material availability, manpower, weather, and inspections.

  3. Thank you both so much! Waterproofing is officially done! :) I'm so excited to start seeing the framing go up. It'll feel so real once the pre-drywall meeting comes!
