Our hole!

I went to the model home with my family yesterday to show them the finished product.  While I was there, the guys were working on the slab for our garage floor.  Our Sales Rep told me that they should begin framing on Monday and the longest it would take to finish is 2 weeks.  He thinks it'll only take about a week, a week and a half.  I didn't take any other pictures because the guys were right there, and I couldn't fit my car through the road because of all the trucks.  However, I am posting the pictures that I promised - including a picture of our wood ;) Enjoy!  Hope everyone is having a great weekend!! :)

  1. Congrats and you are killing me...my wife and I are ready to explode with anticipation. We have been waiting to break ground since December and the day has finally come and gone and no digging yet and we still aren't sure if it is going to happen on Wednesday or not...I just thought of something...the 15th is my daughter's Birthday, maybe since it is her 25th our ground breaking will be her birthday present to us LOL...

  2. BD - omg! What is the problem? I have been seeing comments about it not being started yet, but I don't know what the story is. Is it permits? That is so crazy that you've been waiting literally half a year for them to break ground! I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

  3. Oh sorry for being a little misleading there. We signed our contract back in December, but at the time we had 2 houses to sell. Ryan Homes agreed to set the start date at the end of June or early July if we signed a non-contingent contract back then. We didn't want to sign a contingent contract because we knew that our lot could be pulled out from under us. So the agreement was to push the start date out or if we sold house#1 we could then pull it in, which is what happened...we settled on house #1 May 20th and then told Ryan Homes they could start immediately. Our original tentative start was June 22nd, but they tried to pull it in to the 8th...that didn't happen and we are on the schedule for the 15th, but not firm yet. Sorry for the confusion.

  4. Ooooh okay! I understand now. I just assumed you meant you were waiting since December to break ground - I'm sorry! Well the good thing is that when they start it goes by so fast. I will keep my fingers crossed for the 15th! Also - it's so nice that they worked with you in the beginning to wait to sell the one house. They are actually really reasonable about things like that. We are closing later than the house will be finished to avoid a mortgage payment before our wedding. Good luck with everything & I'll be watching for updates soon!!!

  5. The hole looks great and with the footers up. Nice to see the wood in the background. Framing part goes by so fast! Watching the house goes up is the most enjoyable part of the journey. :)
